Our Culture
At Shoppers Stop, we believe in limitless possibilities and have

customers. This not only creates a service oriented mind-set within
our employees but it also reinforces the feeling that we are all

Our company anthem, “Hadh Se Aage” is played across our organization,
from our head office and regional offices to stores and distribution
centres, at 10.45 am every morning. This song, composed by Javed
Akhtar and sung by Sonu Nigam, is sung wholeheartedly by all our
employees with the lyrics encouraging and inspiring us to make
meaningful contributions to society.

our milestones
We have come a long way from our very first store in 1991 to over 89 stores all across the country. Our journey, complete with ups and downs, has been incredible and we will keep growing faster as we collaborate with different brands, develop our own private labels and continue to serve our loyal customers.
1991
The first Shoppers Stop store was launched in Andheri, Mumbai
1994
The First Citizen Loyalty Program was launched
1995
The second store was launched in Bengaluru
1999
We implemented JDA Retail ERP (a global leader in retail ERP packages)
2000
Crossword, India's leading retail book chain was acquired
2003
The 11th, 12th and 13th Shoppers Stop stores opened in Mumbai, Gurgaon & Kolkata
2005
The Shoppers Stop IPO was oversubscribed overall by 17.25 times. HomeStop was launched, and we partnered with Estee Lauder Co. to launch the first M.A.C. store
2007
We won the Gold Shield Award for Excellence in Financial Reporting in the "Manufacturing & Trading Enterprises" category by ICAI
2008
We were awarded the “Emerging Market Retailer of the Year” and Mr. B.S Nagesh was inducted into the World Retail Hall of Fame at the World Retail Congress, Barcelona
2011
Shoppers Stop had 49 stores in 22 cities across India
2012
With 2.5 million members, the First Citizen program became the biggest, most successful loyalty program in our category
2016
We launched the Personal Shopper concept, the first-ever of its kind in the country
2018
The store count stood at 83 stores in 38 cities across India
2019
We launched the first SSBeauty store, solely dedicated to beauty, and the first Jo Malone store in India
2020
We launched our beauty private label brand, Arcelia
2021
With 88 stores across India, Shoppers Stop celebrated its 30th birthday. We launched the Too Faced, Bobbi Brown, Estee Lauder and Clinique brand websites in India
