I hope you and your family are safe and well. As we know the COVID-19 situation has evolved further and the lockdown has been extended to 3rd of May.
Our Central and State governments have taken stricter and more impactful measures to ensure our safety and it is important that we too take personal precautions to ensure we emerge out of this crisis safely.
In addition to the immediate and grave health concerns, we are seeing a much wider impact on all of our lives as well as the economy. Understandably, there is a great sense of unease everywhere.
To overcome this unique challenge, we request all of you to stay focused on the priorities we have outlined in earlier communication.
- The safety of all of us is paramount. We can only make positive contributions and live our purpose if we stay healthy and avoid spreading the virus.
- Business continuity is key. We need to focus our efforts on innovative ways to welcome back our customers, reduce costs, and collaborate with vendors and suppliers every step of the way.
- Please provide a helping hand – to the extent you can safely – to the people and communities around you. Please help them to get through this – it is part of our values and people will remember.
I would like to reassure you that as a company we are resilient. Over the course of 28 years, the organisation has seen and overcome many challenging moments. I am convinced that we will overcome this one too together.
We are gearing up for re-opening our online business and stores . We have finalised our plans to reopen when allowed to bounce back with clear steps and plans for the safety of our customers and employees at all our stores, DC’s and other facilities.
During this time , we have taken steps to become more savvy with technology and are using various digital tools to be more productive and agile as a company. I am happy to see that our all our departments are collaborating well and are working closely together as one team, to ensure we have a good re-opening to jump start our business.
We have also rolled out several online training programs for the teams at Stores / SO , we do hope you have made good use of them and will continue to do so during the extended lockdown in order to use this time effectively to learn, self-develop and upskill your knowledge base.
Our promise to be with you every step of the way remains. At times like this, the list of concerns can be long for all of us, we are though convinced that we will get through the crisis with confidence, family spirit and well planned actions.
Please, do look after yourselves and your families.
And stay safe. Thank you.
